Suppose you wanted to do a transaction from a remote client to a server as fast as possible. Would you use UDP or TCP? Why? What is meant by a handshaking protocol? Why do HTTP, FTP, SMTP, and POP3 run on top of TCP rather than on UDP? Why is it that voice and video traffic is often sent over TCP rather than UDP in today’s Internet? |

Hello Zhang, UDP is the appropriate tool to use in such a transaction; this is following its efficiency in completing a transaction from a remote client. TCP may be somehow safe to complete the transaction. Nevertheless, it is prolonged compared to UDP.
