Forever free is a sculpture that was done by Edmonia Lewis in 1867. Lewis was a black woman and artist who was able to make the black woman look very emotionally distinct, resistant and even central. Lewis was mostly known as the black woman who defied European treaties aside from being a sculptor (Harrison, 2002). Other works by Lewis that have inspired me over time is the Night (Two Sleeping Children), The Wooing of Hiawatha, Old Arrow Maker, and The Death of Cleopatra (Buick, 1995).
