I feel that my perspective on how history can impact our thoughts and actions in everyday life has changed. The importance of having background information on cultural or social differences can be the factor in how our world evolves; it could even be the difference between life and death in some cases.
I also learned that where the information comes from can impact what response the reader may have, and what information they pass along to others. A contemporary issue that brought a different view into perspective after taking into consideration the past, would be the “Black lives matter” movement. After taking in the fact of racial segregation and social injustices brought upon the black communities, in and outside the US, I can understand how those events of the past still bleed into how the black communities are treated today and what environments they are stuck in because of the past injustices.

My perception of history has evolved in many ways since the start of module one. At the time, I perceived history to be an educational facet that only helped us understand the past. The perception changed to include lessons that can be learned about history that help us to make better decisions about the present and the future.
