Part One: Question One
The United States extensively pursued an isolationist policy until the late nineteenth century, when the country determined that it could no longer operate in isolation based on the extensive production, having saturated the local market with the local products. There was the need for the country to open up to the foreign market, in effect leading to the American companies finding a market for their products in overseas markets, particularly in Latin America.
