Case management influences us now in today’s age but also influenced history as well. I would say that the part of the history of case management that most influences the process today would have to be that they were the ones that started and first used the institutional settings that we still use today. Woodside and McClam state “…case management included the responsibilities of intake, assessment of needs and assignment of living space”, which shows they were the ones that started with the housing for the mentally ill, folks with disabilities, older adults, and etc (Woodside and McClam pg 49, 2018). I think that over the last century in the United States, case management has focused on social diagnosis of each individual which has helped people all over the United States. Woodside and McClam say that this is “a systematic way for helping professionals to gather information and study client problems”, so it not only helps the professional but it helps the individual client as well (Woodside and McClam pg 52, 2018). This is a way that the professional can figure out the exact treatment that the individual may need. I predict that in the future there may be more options for individuals that are homeless and need jobs, there are some out there today but I think as the United States as a whole needs to come up with more housing and jobs for these individuals that just need help on their feet.

Case Studies in Management: Response
Response
Thank you for your post. Indeed, case management involves a focus in distinct issues and efforts by other individuals or organizations to handle such case situations. In particular, the contemporary approach to case studies has involved the assessment of how organizations deal with their issues in the process of management, and the consequent replication of such approaches in alternative organizations. A good example that could be easily understandable would be a health care facility’s management team seeking to learn from another more effective facility, of how they manage to engage in their daily activities with such efficiency.
