Creating a Press Release
In a departure from its normal business operations, Apple has recently teamed up with a bio-tech company to investigate the possibility of cloning human organs. You have been tasked with creating a press release to make this decision public and get ahead of any negative press. Compose a statement to the press to explain Apple’s decision and mitigate potential negative reactions.
What is one public response to Apple’s news that you would anticipate? Do you think that your classmate successfully mitigated this response? State your reasons why or why not. If you do not think your classmate mitigated the public response enough, how would you modify the release to compensate?

Complete the AON network diagram using the information provided in Exercise 11 of Chapter 7.
Identify the critical path.
Identify places where sequencing logic could lead to problems.
Analyze the schedule and identify potential conflicts.

Hello class,
Some of the benefits of involving the team in developing a project schedule are an increased level of buy-in from the team since they have helped make the plan, a better understanding of the strategic goals due to their planning involvement, a better understanding of how their tasks impact the rest of the schedule (activity relationships), a more accurate schedule by including a wider array of experience, and better communication across the team by introducing them to each other during planning rather than mid-project.
I think that involving the team in schedule development has alot of great benefits, but I think the greatest advantage is getting insight from those who have experience in the project’s planned activities. Those with more experience can point out dependencies, challenges, and best practices that others, including the project manager, may not be aware of. I have witnessed this many times and I think the best projects I have been a part of involved discussion with experienced process owners to support or dismiss assumptions. On the flip side, I would say the least successful projects I have witness did not include input from those closest to the work.

RE: Week 6 Discussion 2 Attachment
Hello Class,
My AON Diagram is attached. I calculated the critical path of the House Building Project at 34 days; consisting of Prepare Site (4 days), Install Rough Plumbing (3 days), Pour Concrete Foundation (2 days), Cure Concrete (3 days), Erect Wall Frames (4 days), Install Roof (2 days), Install Exterior Siding (4 days), Install Insulation (2 days), Hang Drywall (3 days), Install Windows (1 day), and Paint Interior (6 days).
The main place where I think sequencing logic could be a problem is the Cure Concrete activity. This is an example of hard logic as it is mandatory to complete before finishing the yard work, the interior work, and the exterior work. The areas I would most worry about delays in are the interior activities because they are along the critical path. Any delays on the interior work will delay the home’s completion.
