There are several important elements that are contained in the Affordable Care Act also referred to as the ACA. These elements relate to public health and the community in general. One of the main elements is insurance reform. The ACA developed new elements such as ensuring that insurers can no longer deny people coverage because of pre-existing conditions. Annual and lifetime caps are now also considered to be illegal. The insurance reform also limited the advertising and profit to not more than 15% for the insurance companies (Richardson, & Rivera, 2017).
