Documentary Reflection – Interrupters
The documentary Interrupters was produced in 2011 and tells the story of three individuals who acted as violence interrupters as they try to protect their communities from violence despite the fact that they had employed similar violence at some point in their lives. The interrupters live in Chicago and the documentary tells stories of violence during a time when Chicago hit the headlines with many cases of violence and murder in various communities and suburbs. The city was grappling with a lot of violence and these individuals took it upon themselves to try and reduce the violence in the community.
