Fed Independence
One of the primary distinguishing facts of the Federal bank and its president is its independence from the government. Most recently, the president received significant criticism for his apparent statements that seemed to be against the independence of the institution, in which the president seemed to be giving directions over the potential future of its president due to its apparent partisan approach to policy decisions. According to President Trump, the decision by the Fed to raise the interest rates during his tenure was an effort by the Fed to reduce the extensive level of economic growth experienced during the Trump presidency.
