Final Essay
For the 3-5-page final essay, you will select three poems that explore a similar theme. These poems must be in English, but they can be from any time period and in any style or length. Your goal in this essay will be to 1) analyze how each poem treats the selected theme, and 2) share what the poetry has revealed to you about that theme.
Basic requirements:
3-5 pages
3 selected (and approved) poems; one of these can be a poem we’ve already read for class!
9-12 direct quotes, quoted and cited properly
An MLA works cited page, showing where you found your selected poems

Theme: All three poems describe different scenes of nature, the eagle, the horse, and the butterfly, and the story brings us closer to the mood of the poet’s description.
