Relief Theory of Laughter
“Engaging in comic relief will definitely help ease the tension in the room.” Such is a statement commonly used in reference to the importance of laughter in creating an ideal environment, away from the tension within the environment in question. Consequently, it remains universally acceptable that laughter and humor could be highly consequential in changing the environment within which it occurs, as the parties involved appreciate the possible irrationality involved. Humor is a relief that helps make potentially adverse conditions acceptable. It could make potentially vulgar language acceptable, simply because the language use is intended to bring about laughter among the audience.
