In several instances in recent history, the national government of affected nations have prevented international responders, either governmental or nongovernmental, from passing through their borders to assist the affected population. The justification for these actions was sovereignty of state. Using internet search engines or other resources, research an instance where the international response was prevented, whether in part of completely. Use this forum to detail the following:

Name of the disaster
Affected country
Description of how international responders were prevented from entering the country
Justification on the part of the affected government for preventing international assistance
Reaction from the international community
Any apparent impacts (in terms of damages or fatalities) attributed to the actions of the affected government
URL to more information about this event
The scholarly exchange of ideas and discussions amongst peers is sometimes even more effective for learning than lecture. Provide your peers with meaningful feedback by evaluating each other’s posts.
