Gender Roles

Based on class lecture and the documentary “Miss Representation”, do you think the gender roles established by society negatively influences males, females, or both? Explain your viewpoint. In doing so, make sure to discuss what is a “gender role”.

Gender roles established by society have adversely affected both males and females since they give different perspectives of how they should dress, think, socialize, and speak. This has been pushed by the different media channels. Women have been viewed as objects since when one looks at the contents being aired in the media, women are judged by their looks but not their achievements.
