Each student will choose a global health problem and complete a 2-3 page (Maximum) essay (not counting the title or reference page) regarding the global health concern. Do not focus on an issue that is strictly occurring in the US. Examples of topics for the case study may include:

-Women, infants, and children issues

-Outbreaks of communicable/infectious disease

-Non-communicable diseases (NCD’s) such as heart disease, depression

-Poverty-leading to limited access to healthcare, hunger, malnutrition

-Environmental issues such as clean water for drinking

-Interventions for global health issues (e.g. providing potable water in underdeveloped areas; climate change)

The case study MUST provide headings in APA format and information to include:

DATA-morbidity & mortality rates, incidence and prevalence.
Burden of disease (what impact does this issue have on aspects such as economics, life span, disability adjusted life year (DALY), etc.
Health system presence-(who, what, and where) & availability/accessibility
Coordination of services (who is involved in addressing the issue?) -Governmental efforts, international efforts, non- governmental organizations (NGO’s)
