Consider for a minute the beauty and wonder of God’s love for diversity.

Getting Started

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.1 Corinthians 12:4-6
Consider for a minute the beauty and wonder of God’s love for diversity. God made our world, and the people in it, so diverse and unique! Yet, we are all fashioned in His image. How amazing is our God that He created us in such a diverse and beautiful way!

As social workers, much like as Christians, we value and honor diversity. We see diversity not as something that divides us, but that unites us. We are all diverse, and we are all children of God. As social workers, honoring diversity is essential and is one of the defining features of our profession. Regardless of one’s shape, size, ethnicity, race, gender, socio-economic status, etc…, as social workers, we value our clients’ diversity and their diverse life experiences.

As Christians, we do the same. We recognize that diversity is strength, and is a gift from God.
