For this assignment you will identify and research a macro need in the community, which will be determined by the completed Project Selection Form. The goal of this assignment is to assist you in gaining a better understanding of the nature of the need so that you can design a Macro Intervention (a separate assignment) that will be well informed and directed.
You will be graded on the following:
Brief introduction on why you choose this issue to address using a macro intervention. (5 points)
Ability to completely and clearly discuss the macro issue including statistics that detail the prevalence regarding the need. (30 points)
Ability to compile information from at least 5 sources and formulate need clearly. These sources should include peer-reviewed journal articles and not just information from general websites. This includes providing proper citation of references. (10 points)
The methods of determining an appropriate community and the needs of the community are addressed. (10 points)
Presentation of modern and historic interventions that have been commonly applied to address this issue (include successful agencies and organizations currently or historically working to meet these needs). What interventions have they used and what are the remaining barriers? (20 points)
A brief description the proposed Macro Intervention and how it fits with the needs of the community. (20 points)
