Read Chapter 8: Speech Perception in your course text and the article “Listening: Top Down and Bottom Up.” Demonstrate, using examples, the differences between top-down and bottom-up speech processing and how they can be used in the classroom. Based on your reading, explain how word intelligibility could be affected by phonological misinterpretations.
