Cold war started immediately after the end of Second World War. The war was initiated by the United States to conquer his rival superpower. After the end of the Second World War, there were only two states which in fighting for the superpower and that are the United States and the Soviet Union of the USSR. Those two states were the superpowers by then. The states feared to attack each other because of each possessed nuclear weapons. The nuclear weapons are very much dangerous because they are capable of destroying a whole nation whine a very short time.
