Project 1
Edward Curtis
Edward became known as the Shadow Catcher in the wake of the 20th century because of the photographs he captured. He is essential in the history of photography because of his iconic pictures which featured more than eighty Native American tribal groups. His interest in photography led him to construct his own country. He later learned the process involved with processing the film. Over 40,000 pictures were taken which showed the beauty of the Native American’s culture and traditions. He focused more on the past rather the present which resulted in amazing photos (Curtis, 1982).
