How Does Racial Segregation in Schools Affect Students Outcomes
Introduction
The reality of the education system in the US is that urban and suburban schools receive unequal attention. There is widespread institutional discrimination and ignorance in addressing the needs of the minority children. Suburban schools are comprised of white kids, while urban schools are for African Americans and Hispanic students. Suburban schools often receive a better education as compared to urban schools (Essays, 2013). The other issue in schools is concerned with segregation. Racial segregation is a common issue in the United States schools. Black poor students are concentrated in urban schools, away from not only the whites but also the rich blacks. Urban schools perform poorly as compared to suburban schools.
