Part I

The purpose of the study conduct by the author was to assess some of the best practices that can be applied by individuals who conduct telephone administered interviews to their clients. In particular, the authors delve into the use of interviews when assessing the employability and suitability of a given individual who has been identified to have some potential to fill an open or vacant position within the company. In the recent past, many recruiting firms and agencies have been observed to continue using telephone interviews despite the much criticism that has been associated with these interviews. The authors suggest that these interviews are not only important but also create the first instance through which the hiring firm can get to learn more about a given candidate. It is through this assertion that the authors conduct a study on behalf of a consulting firm that was recruiting salesperson to represent it in the market.
