Technology changes the way hr departments contact employees, store files, and analyze employee performance. Technology makes HR practices more efficient. When used poorly, it can get in the way of managing the company’s human resources. Technology makes it easier to gather and break down data on employees to get an overall picture. With email, text, and messaging apps it’s easier than ever for HR staff to stay in touch with the rest of the company. In my experience as working in HR, I can multi-task easily with technology. I can be on a zoom call and at the same time respond to emails. We also use a program now that will post our job openings on different job boards, as well as, emailing our new hires their onboarding packet, application, insurance forms, etc. I used to have to do this all on paper and it is difficult when your company is spread all throughout the state. My company still stores employee records in a locked filling cabinet that I have the key too. I am now uploading them into a program and trying to bring the company to the 21st century. You must have good policies in place when governing who can access confidential data, both hard copy and in electronic form. Technology has without a doubt brough the positive change that we need in our HR department. Following technological practices can secure your place in the market and make your employees more aware of what is happening around in the world.

Technology has changed every one of our lives. It is not surprising that it has a significant impact on Human resources (Mike, 2019). Human Resources is one of the topics I believe have been most influenced and changed by technology changes by how employees are contacted, how files may are now stored, and even how employee performance reviews are reviewed to employees. If appropriately utilized, technology can have a good impact on the HR practices of any company (Mike, 2019). Human resources managers oversee the essential component of a successful business –a productive, thriving workforce (Bianca, 2019). Human resource departments’ advancement with technology helps improve their internal processes, core competencies, relevant markets, and organizational structure as a whole (Profiles Pacific, 2020). Therefore by these changes/ advancements within technology, they have had overall significant changes within the HR department. I feel as though a strong HR department helps organizations continue to grow and recruit new employees. The constant change of technology shows others that your organization can adapt to any recent changes that could advance your organization.
