Question One
Hypertension is one of the risk factors for cardiovascular mortality and morbidity. Hypertension is attributed to external factors such as lifestyle and diet. Dietary modifications such as reduction of salt intake, weight loss, and moderation of alcohol consumption have proven very effective in lowering blood pressure. The Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH) has been developed over the years and referred to planned dietary patterns as well as increased potassium intake for hypertension patients.
