The Legal Issue

In this era, business law has been more focused at protecting workers and promoting their welfare more than ever. However, welfare of the employees is often compromised and the same business law has policies in place to be followed after employees’ rights have been violated. Workplace violence has continued to be a major cause of concern whereby workers face the risks of suffering from threats, verbal abuse as well as physical assaults. Type II, customer/client workplace violence has remained to be one the most common forms of workplace violence. Service providers have continued to be under constant threat and the rising cases of violence has proved that no one is immune from this type of workplace violence (Black, 2015). To a much greater extent, workers in correctional facilities from the prison management, normal prison staff and guards, risk workplace violence every hour of every day especially from inmates.
