Salient points which were essential to the case
In the Supreme Court case of Elk Grove Unified District Vs. Newdow, there were a few important matters that were arising from the evidence that had been brought upon the supreme court, that formed the basis of the suit. The first issue was whether Newdow had the loci standing to bring such a case in court and to sue on behalf of himself and the daughter as a “next friend”. Newdow was allegedly using the school because the children in his daughters elementary class were reciting the “Pledge of Allegiance” daily in class.
