Discussion Questions
Question One
There are several basic conditions that are used to distinguish a group from a team in the workplace or in a given institution. One of the basic condition is based on the purpose. In groups, there is a feeling among all the members that the group has been developed for administrative purposes. However, in teams, there is the notion that for the goals set to be achieved, there is a need for all members to work together. The other basic difference is based on role awareness. In a group, each member is preoccupied with the roles and responsibilities that they are supposed to play. Each member is also unaware of what tasks are supposed to be performed by other members of the group.
