Submit the introduction to your research (“CONSEQUENCES OF AN AMNESTY FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS”) proposal based on the topic you selected in week

1. The introduction should include the scope, context, purpose, and significance of the research you are planning to conduct. The last sentence of the paragraph should be the research question.

Keep in mind that since this is your paper introduction, it should be written in an academic voice. Include a cover page and proper APA formatting. Include at least three scholarly journals or books that you found that inform your research. Please note, for purposes of this course, scholarly sources should only be peer reviewed journals, books, or articles from think tanks (see the Lesson for approved think tanks).

Finally, formulate an educated guess as your preliminary Hypothesis. You should use an “if” “then” statement. Don’t get too hung up. It should be one sentence.

Hypothesis: A statement for how a change or condition in one or more independent variables cause(s) a change or condition in a dependent variable.

Amnesty is the legalization of illegal immigrants who are subject to deportation if discovered by the relevant authorities. There has been a massive increase in the number of illegal immigrants entering the United States through backdoor means and are therefore undocumented. Many American citizens have thus become very concerned about their safety and the decrease in jobs as they fight for the available resources.
