Part one
You will prepare a research paper on one of the contemporary constitutional law or public policy topics of your choosing. In this paper, you must use at least four credible sources to thoroughly provide an:
Introduction and definition of the topic;
Review of the major legal and policy issues, and research findings;
Provide a future forecast of the selected topic.
Students may only use academic sources created by officially recognized scholars, such as journal articles, scholarly sources or books that address this specific issue, your textbook, other recognized treaties, and government documents. Do not use Wikipedia, popular magazines and newspapers, or general textbooks. You must use a minimum of 4 sources.
The paper must be 5-7 pages (including references and title page), double-spaced, with 1.25″ margins, Times New Roman font, and 12 point size. Direct quotes must be used very sparingly—the vast majority of the text of your paper must be in your own word
Part two
Case Brief on a Selected Supreme Court Case- Students are to select a Supreme Court case that is discussed in any of the chapter topics in Constitutional Law: Governmental Powers and Individual Freedoms.
You will prepare a case study based on a past Supreme Court case of your choosing. In the case study, you must use at least four credible sources to thoroughly provide an:
Introduction and details of the topic;
Review of the major legal and policy issues that arose from the topic;
The legal ramifications of the precedent set forth by the Supreme Court’s decision
