JIT manufacturing is a manufacturing framework that was first used by Toyota during the 1960s and 1970s (Monden, 2017). It was aimed at reducing the time that is taken within the production system. Reduction of time means that products produced could reach the market faster and the response times from the suppliers and customers would also be improved.
