Las Casas
Question 1
In his critic of the Spanish treatment of the native population, Las Casas hoped to appeal to possible sympathizers in Europe. Since the Spanish Crown was responsible for the direction of activities in Hispaniola, he was also privy to the issues experienced by the natives therein. His lack of action meant that he sanctioned the activities, and Las Casas hoped that those opposed to him would find a reason to take action. Ultimately imperialism from other Europeans monarchs happened, with the intent to stop the spread of Spanish brutality being one of the primary guises of the said efforts. Consequently, Las Casas had managed to tell the world of the challenges experienced by the natives in the Caribbean region.
