Discussion Board 3: Gas Laws
Description We discuss several different gas laws in this course. Boyle’s Law, Charles’s Law, and The Combined Gas Law are just a few of them. Review each of these laws. Think about how these gas laws can be applied to everyday life. Give an example of where you have seen one of these laws in your recent daily activity. For example. you might have been driving up a mountain and had an empty water bottle in your car. That water bottle might have made some noise as the pressure changes were affecting it.

Objectives
• CO 1: Discuss the importance of chemistry in our society. • CO 6: Calculate the different parts of chemical quantities and chemical reactions to determine the molar mass, reactions, and relationships. • MO 1: Describe the mole and use molar mass in calculations. • MO 2: Be able to balance chemical equations and predict types of reactions. • MO 3: Predict the oxidized and reduced species of an oxidation-reduction reaction. • MO 4: Calculate problems using mole relationships in chemical equations.
Instructions
Step 1: In your initial post, respond to the following prompt: • Give an example of where you have seen one of these laws in your recent daily activity. For example. you might have been driving up a mountain and had an empty water bottle in your car. That water bottle might have made some noise as the pressure changes were affecting it. • Along with the example above. state which gas law governs the behavior you have observed. • Explain exactly how what you observed is consistent with the law.
