Part 1: Identify a dispute between two international businesses (previously settled).
- Identify and describe the dispute and its legal issues.
- Students will recommend one platform for resolving the dispute; litigation, arbitration, mediation, or negotiation and justify their choice and provide an explanation for rejecting the three other platforms.
- Students will then analyze the dispute and recommend the most viable solution to resolve the conflict by applying the “IRAC” Issue + Rule + Analysis + Conclusion method used throughout the course.
- The student will present an ethical analysis of the dispute from the perspective of both parties.
Part 2: Select a business that is currently facing legal problems (i.e. employment, environmental, intellectual property, criminal, or any other topic from the Weekly Lecture Outline (Link will open in this tab.)).
- Identify the legal issues and the specific laws at issue (Issue + Rule + Analysis of “IRAC” method).
- Students will propose the possible solutions to address the legal problem(s) and identify the most viable outcome (likely Conclusion of the “IRAC” method).
- The student will present an ethical analysis of the dispute from the perspective of both parties.
