legal perspectives
Health Policy Briefs provide succinct overviews of health policy topics. The intended audience is policymakers, journalists, and others concerned about improving health care in the United States. The briefs explore arguments made on various sides of a policy proposal. They provide guidance on available research behind each perspective. Early Care and Education Policy
Policies developed by the political class are often a result of professionals making an effort to understand the issue in question. Understanding the prevalence of a health issue with children of a particular age group would require that the medical practitioners in contact with the children raise the alarm over the consistency in observation of the said issue. Consequently, just as much as the professionals play a role in the development of such policies, they ought to play a critical part in their implementation. According to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (2019), the first years of life play a significant role in influencing the development process of a particular child. In particular, the policy proposal to improve the quality of attention accorded to children’s health below five years of age would be an important factor in determining the general health of the child as an adult.
