PRINCIPLES AND STRATEGIES IN HUMAN SERVICES
In this lesson, we will explore the models of service delivery. This might take us backwards a
bit historically speaking again but certainly these models are operational today. As you read,
you will see the differences between the Medical Model, Public Health Model, and the
Human Services Model. We will look at the strengths and weaknesses of each, their
characteristics–including view of client, how they define the client, the dynamics of the
relationship, and the goals of treatment.
