The 70-year old case was significant since it set the stage for every lawsuit which would be brought in court because of racial equality. Despite the case not being known as Brown v. Board of Education, the case led to the signing of the bill which ended school segregation in California which was done two months after the judges had affirmed the ruling made by the District Court (Wollenberg, 1974).
