For your Midterm essay exam, you will complete 10 short answer essay questions which focus on the text chapters. The visual cortex is the major cortical region existing in the brain and its functions includes receiving, integration and processing visual information that the retinas relay. The paths in the visual cortex comprises of a series of cells that transmit visual information for processing to the brain. There are five key paths of the visual cortex and they range from V1 to V5. V1 is also called primary visual cortex and it visual cortex’s first region.
