Module 3
Hepatitis B is usually found in blood but can exist in other body fluids (Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention [CDC], 2020). Health care providers need a series of three injections to
prevent for Hepatitis B (CDC, 2020). (Notice how the second CDC citation differs from the
first). See Reference examples on the last page (you will need to cite from all references). Due to
our aging population, osteoporosis is predicted to increase; therefore, treatment with drugs and
the side effects that go along with them will most likely also increase (Haumschild, 2010). The
oral cancer screening procedure should be a shared medical and dental responsibility for patients
that have medical coverage but no dental insurance (Haumschild, 2012). Many chronic disorders
such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, brain health, lung disease, and diabetes are associated
with oral manifestations. This bi-directional relationship may be a result of inflammatory
response to periodontal pathogens (Haumschild et al, 2020).
