Moon landing conspiracy

THE OUTLINE

Name:

My topic is Moon landing conspiracy theory. My purpose is to provide a critique to Kubrick’s defence of her father against claims that he falsified a moon landing film to give America a win in the space race.My particular purpose is to provide the specific reasons that show America’s Astronauts landing on the moon in 1969 was a fallacy to the entire world, and to the Soviets in specific.

My thesis statement is an examination of the evidence in support of the fact that America’s claim that her astronauts landed on the moon on the moon was a deceit to the world and happened to advance the countries national interest in the cold war milieu. My organizational format is a local pattern. It is the frequently used form, and it works when others do not work.  The model arranges facts according to sub-topics within the wider topic.

The main points I’m thinking about focusing on are: that despite the unclear circumstances about the landing on the moon by American Astronauts, there is substantial evidence to support that this claim by the American government was a misrepresentation of facts.

These points are relevant to my audience because they believe that a conspiracy is a tool that many countries use to advance selfish nationalistic interests. My audience is young researchers in conspiracy theories in the University. Conspiracists have become successful in sustaining public interest in their theory for over four decades, despite the third-party evidence and rebuttals. According to opinion polls from various locations, 28% of Russians and between 6% and 20% of American citizens surveyed hold that the manned landings were fake. Even in 2001, the documentary by the Fox TV network about a conspiracy theory that there was no actual landing on the moon indicated that NASA falsified the 1969 first moon landing to become winners of the Space Race.

THE SPEECH

Moon landing conspiracy theory

Moon landing conspiracy theory is a conspiracy theory claiming that the Apollo and the moon landings associated with it was a hoax staged by NASA. According to this conspiracy theory, the six manned landing that took place between 1969 and 1972 was a falsehood. Also, according to the theory, the twelve Apollo astronauts never walked on the moon (Plait, 80). Many individuals and groups made claims since the mid-70s that NASA and other collaborators misled the public to believe that the landing happened. They did it by manufacturing, interfering with, and destroying evidence such as TV and radio submissions, photos, and telemetry tapes, some relevant witnesses and Moon rock samples.

There is much third-party evidence regarding the landing, as well as details of rebuttals to the conspiracy.  Since 2000, high-definition photos captured by the LRO (Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter) (LRO) of the landing sites of Apollo capture the lander modules as well as the tracks that the astronauts leave (Nick, 56). In 2012, there was the release of images that showed five Apollo missions’ USA flags on the moon still standing; except Apollo 11, that pain on the lunar surface from the time it became blown over accidentally by the exhaust of rocket taking off.

Kubrick’s response

Kubrick vigorously defended her father who supposedly produced the falsified film of astronauts on the moon. She claims that her father was an artist of deep integrity with a political and social consciousness in all the films he made. According to Kubrick, her father would be the last person to collude with the government to betray the Americans.

Kubrick admits that there are many, real conspiracies in history and even some are happening at present times. She confirms having knowledge of several manipulations that the government, the banksters, the secret services as well as the military-industrial-complex dreadfully perpetrate. However, she refuses to admit that her father faked the films to grant \America some position in the space race.  According to Kubrick, her father was an ardent defender of humankind and therefore would not betray his country using such an act.

My hunch

Ladies and gentlemen, it becomes unfortunate that people may never come to know the truth. However, when one takes a look at America’s history, whose foundation appears to incline towards power, greed, corruption and collusion heavily, one can make a conjecture of where to find the truth. The issue with hoax theories, and undeniably, every conspiracy theory, is that the narrative just accommodates “what about”s.

Nevertheless, there are many investigations around the moon landings. I believe they persist because the NASA never addressed the allegations. They might argue that it is not useful, but they lie in the best position to interrogate this theory and settle the confusion.

One of the frequent comments from people who reject to admit that the landings were factual is that the America could never dupe USSR with such ease. The thoughtful theorists argue that the conspiracy has flaws because of the assumption that the USSR and USA were in competition. Furthermore, David Percy in a book he authored, called the “dark moon” suggests that the cold wars and the associated space race were only a platform for much deeper conspiracies, one for it being that the two rival countries belonged to the same industrial-military complex (Wisnewski). Therefore, the space race was only a confidence trick whose purpose was to generate money simply.

Given the aforementioned, USSR was a colluding partner. Percy argues that the Soviets attempted several landings on the moon without any publicity, and using members of the armed forces, but lost astronauts on every occasion due to unfortunate accidents. According to Percy, these were suicide missions.

I think the reason is the quality of the photograph because they are outstanding considering that the camera that shot these photos was on astronaut’s chest. Therefore, it presented no space to check how the picture would appear, that is, the viewfinder was not there. An astronaut is in a pressurised suit that makes ordinary camera work difficult, yet no single shot got out of focus over exposed.  It seems impossible that such quality achieved in all shots obtained in such circumstances.

Conclusion

It is my conclusion that there is a reasonably straightforward account for the many of the anomalies in photos. The Apollo landing was real; however, the quality of many of the photos was so weak that they re-staged some of them in a studio.
