The writing assignment must be in MLA format (double-spaced, Times New Roman font). The assignment must be minimum 250 words of your original writing and answer all the questions in the prompt. If you quote from another source, you must credit that source; plagiarism checking software is enabled.
PROMPT:
Choose one the Jataka Tales, found here: https://www.pitt.edu/~dash/jataka.html#tortoiserefused. These are stories about previous incarnations of the Buddha (before he became the Buddha). These stories are meant to show listeners about the lessons the Buddha learned in previous lives on his path to enlightenment. Once you have chosen one, please write about the following:
A summary of the story (should not be more than half the writing)
A discussion about the moral lesson found in the story, and how it relates to what you learned about Buddhism from the book. Remember if you quote from the book, use quotation marks and label the page!
A short discussion of what you like about the story (might be how story was told, or lesson, or characters) and why.
