 Discuss mental health disparities among persons of color.
 Contrast evidence-based therapies, culturally adapted treatments, and multicultural
competencies.
 Explain factors of multicultural competence.
 Discuss the meaning of personally relevant interventions in human services, including
the meaning and impact of personal relevance.

Culturally Responsive Services Review (worth 30 points)
One factor in multicultural perspectives in human services is knowledge of resources geared
toward providing culturally responsive human services. The purpose of this discussion is to
review, research, and grow your list of culturally responsive resources in human services
delivery.
*Please note:* This discussion forum is “post first.” In other words, you will not see the
posts of your classmates until after you post.
Step 1: From the list below, select one and review the resource. In at least one paragraph,
discuss the resource in terms of its strengths, limitations, types of specialized services, and
any other factors you believe are relevant.

Step 2:  Conduct research to identify at least one additional resource that provides
culturally responsive human services to people in the same community served by the resource
you selected in Step 1. In at least one paragraph, describe the resource, its specialized
services, strengths, limitations, and any other factors you believe are relevant. Include the link
to the resource you identified.
Step 3: Review the posts of your classmates and build your own list of culturally responsive
human services. For this discussion, you do not need to provide a reply to your classmate’s
post. Instead, learn from your classmate’s research to create your own list of culturally
responsive human services.

Step 4: Review the grading rubric, which explains the expectations for your post.
Step 5:  Post your responses to Steps 1 and 2 to this discussion.
