For your paper assignment for this module, I’d like you to select one work of art from the module and write an essay in which you discuss that work of art both as a Renaissance object and in terms of how it might be considered relevant today in 2021. In other words, think of some event, reality, or aspect of our modern society (or perhaps something in the news) and connect that to the work of art you choose in the interest of suggesting its relevance to the contemporary moment. You might think of your piece as a small essay that might appear in a news magazine or the editorial page of a newspaper in which you, the writer, encourage the reader to see a work from the Renaissance through a particular modern lens or in relation to a particular modern reality or issue.
