#2 Why did you choose this mantra? What feelings does it provoke?
I choose this mantra because I feel as if I get overwhelmed sometimes and find it hard to stay calm. I always have to remind myself that whatever situation I’m in there is always a reasonable solution to help solve my problems. When faced with something difficult I often pause for a moment to calm down and relax, take a few breaths and find a solution and keep pushing to get thru it.
#3 How can you use this conflict resolution mantra when faced with future conflicts?
I can use this mantra when I’m faced with future conflicts at work and even in my personal life. I feel as if avoiding conflict is inevitable and I should always know strategies to help. According to Trusted Health “Different people with different personal and professional backgrounds will often have different opinions on the best course of care. Misunderstandings, especially in a fast-paced healthcare setting, can and will occur. Add in the stress inherent in caring for (and saving) lives, and it’s no wonder that we expect to face conflict in nursing and other healthcare specialties (Trusted Health, 2019).” This mantra will help me remain calm and find a good resolution to any future conflicts.
