The digital divide is common in many countries and within countries. Within countries, it refers to differences among households, businesses, geographic users, and individuals. The digital divide is common in most countries today without the exception of the United States. The differing digital divide that exists between different countries is referred to as the global digital divide.
There is a lot of evidence that suggests that the digital divide is shrinking. A decrease in the digital divide is a desirable aspect since it means that inequalities in regards to information technologies could soon be eradicated.
