Fight for Basic Rights
Attending the “100 years of protest at UCLA” was a significant learning experience. Firstly, I managed to get an ideal position at the hall, which effectively increased my comfort listening to the panel’s main speakers. Lack of an ideal position has in the past been a significant detractor to my experience, as it reduces the ability to interact appropriately with the speaker, which in turn adversely affects the attitude towards the entire program. Eventually, I could end up having acquired minimal insight from the entire seminar simply because I failed to get the perfect sitting position. The case was different this time because I managed to get to the seminar in time, and had a variety of options from which to choose from.
