In your discussion, you should define the topic using the psychological literature; describe what makes the topic controversial, bizarre or taboo; and discuss the possible psychological ramifications of the topic. Solution Preview

This is probably one of the most controversial and widely debate topics in the United States right now. The gun control debate has been ongoing for a while now and has hence escalated with the increase in mass shooting incidents in schools, churches and nightclubs in the country (Squires, 2012).

According to the Amendment, the right to bear and keep firearms is an individual right and therefore shall not be infringed upon by the government. However, based on the first clause of the Second Amendment, the right to ownership of guns is meant to be ‘properly-regulated’ by the local governments and federal agencies.
