This is a group project. My portion will be the symptoms of Parkinson’s. 5 pages minimum and please do not overload each page with information. Pictures are welcome. Please include speaker notes and citations. You may also add questions for the audience but it can not be included in the 5 pages minimum.

Introduction

The disease currently has no particular test to diagnose the various symptoms but a trained neurologist is capable of identifying the different symptoms of the disease, out of their experience with neurodegenerative disorders whose symptoms are most common in Parkinson’s disease. In their announcement regarding the newly developed MRI scan technique to detect early onset of the Parkinson’s disease, Clare Mackay of the Psychiatry department at Oxford University says, “We presently have no way to predict which persons are at risk of Parkinson’s disease.” However, she goes ahead, “the disease mainly involves symptoms such as tremors, rigidity and stiffness of muscles and slowed movement.” (University of Oxford, 2014) This section will focus on the various identified symptoms that accompany the disease in most of the diagnosed cases.
