Perspective in art refers to the ability of the artist to signify an accurate depiction of objects from a particular vantage point in a two-dimensional surface so that their relative height, width and position to one another portray depth (McKinley). Perspective was discovered by Florentine architect Filippo Brunelleschi in the painting of the Baptistery in Florence from the front gate of the unfinished cathedral in 1415 (Oil and Canvas).
