Perspectives in Psychology:
Step 1: Choose one of the following pairs of perspectives to compare:
Pair 1: Neuroscience vs. Cognitive
Pair 2: Psychodynamic vs. Behavioral
Pair 3: Evolutionary vs. Behavior Genetics
Pair 4: Social Cultural vs. Evolutionary
Step 2: Compare the two perspectives. How are they similar? How are they different?
Step 3: Choose an example of an issue to be researched.
Give an example of this topic could be researched from each of these perspectives.
Would the researcher use an experimental design or a correlational design?
Explain your answer. (Be specific – refer to textbook and be sure to cite references!)
This should be 1 page (1″margin, 12 pt. font, double spaced) for full credit! Your response should demonstrate that you understand each of these perspectives (describe the perspective) and how the two chosen to evaluate are similar/different as well as how someone from this perspective would study psychology! Don’t forget to give an example for each perspective. The examples should contrast how a topic would be studied from each perspective.
