Although it is the work of the government and the law enforcement department to look into such issues, the regulations might not be in a position to protect each individual from the kind of danger they face. It is, therefore, a notion around the world that security always begins with individual citizens and then extends to the outside community. Ownership of guns has brought controversies on whether it is the right or the wrong strategy to implement to increase the security amongst people living in a certain society. That explains the reason as to why the American government put in place the gun controls to regulate the number of people in ownership of a firearm and hence control the number of related crimes. The control ensures that only the credible and trustworthy individuals are allowed to own a gun and have to take the necessary strategies to ensure that they are responsible for any wrongdoing that occurs in relation to their firearms. While states like Canada has implemented this control, America is unable because of the oppositions stating that everyone should be allowed to get a gun for personal security.
