Illustrate your proposal by referring to a practical example and then base your response on a proposed improvement on specific standards and relate their relevance to technology projects.

Organizations are currently investing in information technology projects to improve the efficiency of their operations. Despite this, the IT related projects are unable to meet their on-budget objectives or produce the projected business results. Different factors have affected the success rates of many projects including the organizational project management functions (Attarzadeh & Ow, 2008). While these factors might not result in project failure, the inherent value of the implemented project cannot be attained. Successful implementation of information systems projects provides a handful of benefits to both the organizations and its employees. These benefits comprise of improved organizational performance, profitability and efficiency in business processes (Fernandes, Ward & Araújo, 2014). Nonetheless, vast examples of ineffective IT project management are reported resulting in negative impacts on the organizations.
